Dark Talk Time was created by a group of three artists based in Melbourne and surrounds: Ben Landau, Jalen Lyle-Holmes and Sarah Walker. We also host most of the calls.

We are three independent artists working together to create participatory public projects. We strive to find unique methods to invite the audience to participate, especially with each other, and are particularly interested in responding to specific situations and sites.

The collective has produced two projects, Dark Talk Time and text block stack. An in-person version of Dark Talk Time was presented at the Association for Visual Pedagogies conference in 2019. text block stack was commissioned by the NGV for the 2020 Melbourne Art Book Fair.

Ben Landau

Ben uses design research to analyse systems, and artistic methodologies to tamper with them. He constructs experiences, objects and performances which are interactive or invite the audience to participate.

Jalen Lyle-Holmes

Jalen is a writer, performing artist and (in his spare time) computer science student. He is obsessed with the delightful peculiarities that come out of ordinary conversation. He often uses conversation to draw audiences into his work, and his work out of audiences.
